Faohr truly lives up to his breed. He is flighty and a bit spastic, and sometimes has difficulty concentrating on any one thing for any extended period of time. He talks very rapidly, which tends to make it difficult to understand him, for those who have not known him for very long. Faohr would much rather solve conflicts with play or games, but he does have a very short temper and is not afraid of confrontation, and will be incited to violent attacks if provoked. When he does attack, he does so with such viciousness that he has truly earned the name of "Deathscythe", using well all weapons he has at his disposal, and is usually very creative and innovative in his approaches to combat.

Like all mercury dragons, Faohr's breath weapon is a beam of yellow light, which is five feet wide and has a 60-foot sweep. The beam acts as a laser, incinerating anything it touches. In addition to his breath weapon, Faohr's highly reflective metallic scales offer another weapon: when he cups his wings to catch any existing light, he can focus another beam of energy, which has a similar range as his breath weapon. Because the undersides of his wings are a bright green, this beam of energy is also a bright green, and it has a blinding effect on any creature it strikes.

Duo and Faohr are a match made in heaven. Faohr's wild exuberance helps Duo to forget some of the more dark issues of his past, and reminds the youth that there is nothing that cannot be solved with a little lighthearted play. Though life with Faohr can be exasperating at times, since it's difficult to get him to concentrate on any one thing for any great length of time, Duo considers Faohr his "best buddy", and knows that, in a fight, Faohr is the best ally one can have.
