Frys shares the same love of ruling and aristocracy as his rider, but unlike Treize, Frys possesses a jealous and possessive streak of his land and territory. He is constantly on the lookout for rivals and/or threats to their kingdom, and has proven himself especially effective in rallying and gathering armies to use in defense of their lands. However, where such ardor bordering on paranoia would make some creatures weak from stress, Frys thrives upon it. He lives for the battle, taking every opportunity to utilize his vast knowledge and expertise in war games to his advantage.

Frys, like other gem dragons, has a breath weapon which is a voice weapon. Frys' weapon is a nearly inaudible sonic vibration. The vibration's effect is twofold: On a mental level, it incites a sort of mindless fear into those it affects, and causes them to run panicked from him. The other effect of the vibration is a physical one; it has slight concussive properties, and the high-pitched keening tends to shatter glass and rupture bodily organs, such as eardrums and eyes. It is nearly impossible to build a resistance or immunity to this weapon, so Frys rarely uses it, instead relying on more martial combat, using his talons and teeth to great advantage. The three scythelike horns on the tip of his tail also come in useful for this purpose.

When he is around Treize, Frys is more calm than he is on the field, but on the battlefield, he is all business. Treize trusts him more than any other; Frys is an extension of himself, and knows his motives better than anyone. As a team, their charisma and drive are difficult to overcome.
